We had a fun lazy day. We woke up, got ready and eventually went to the mall to play in the “Fun Forest.” It’s a play area for the kids—but it is air conditioned! Next we went to Target to eat some popcorn and just relax for awhile. The girls decided to ham it up for the camera. Oh—in honor of Independence Day, and in preparation for the fireworks show tonight, I did the girls hair in “Fireworks” style.
Oh! Look at those puppy dog eyes!
I asked for a ‘grumpy’ face—I think it’s adorable.
I asked Kalyn to smile, and this is what I got.
Then Heath hugged her and I love the look of question on her face.
This is just a little while ago at the fireworks show. Kalyn and Keali were so excited. They were in awe of the first fireworks and especially loved the green and pink ones!
Again, I asked Kalyn to smile, and this is what I got.
After a few, Kalyn decided they were much too loud for her. She has always had that problem. Most sounds don’t bother her, but the popping of fireworks is terrifying.
She asked me to hold her ears for her. After a while, my hands started to hurt so Heath took over.
During the transition, an especially loud explosion reduced my baby to tears.
As soon as Kalyn lost control, Keali took that as permission to do the same.
In all, we ended up leaving a bit early, but we missed the pandemonium I am sure broke out as people tried to leave the fairgrounds and surrounding parking lots. It was late and the girls were tired, but they had fun.
