This week, for the most part has been an absolute bummer. At work we are spending all of July training our grad students how to be hall directors. Tuesday and Wednesday were Counseling Center days so we spent them hearing about how to handle/deal with/refer the following horrible things that happen in life:
Mental Illness
Suicide Talk, Threat, Ideation, Attempt, Success
Sexual Assault/Rape
Grief
Stress
And all the wonderful horrible things that can happen in life.
A complete bummer.
The food was good though!
I didn’t get much sleep Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday nights thanks to aches and pains—mostly my ankles. Weird because I have never had problems with my ankles during pregnancy before. Last night, Heath knew how exhausted I was so after dinner the girls and I snuggled in to watch The Bee Movie. Keali fell asleep about halfway in and so did I. Kalyn woke me up a few times, but basically I slept from 7:30 last night until 7:30 this morning. It was great!
I felt good most of the morning and since about 1:30 pm I’ve been having contractions on and off. I’m almost certain they are braxton hicks.
I came home from work to find Heath had cleaned—deep cleaned—the ENTIRE apartment! He did it in preparation for the dinner I was supposed to make for my staff tonight. Notice I wrote was. I’m not doing it tonight. I feel so bad that Heath went to all that trouble to clean and I’m not even following through with my plans. That was, I felt so bad. Turns out he recruited help in the form of his Mom. He would have me believe he did it all himself. Kalyn informed me what really happened!
Still—he did a lot of work and so did Julia. I truly do appreciate it. I’ll have to keep it clean so I can do the dinner next Monday.
The girls are growing so big it hurts! Keali’s favorite word right now is “also.” She will say, “I want juice. And also a hotdog.” Her prayers at night go something like this,
“Please help me be good for Daddy, and also for family home meeting (both girls call FHE this), and also for Mamaw, and also for Church, and also for Holly, and also for Papaw, and also for this, and also for that…” and so on and so forth until we force her to say, “In the name of…” Notice my name doesn’t come up anywhere. Apparently she doesn’t have to be good for me! She is super cute.
Kalyn loves writing things down. She asks us how to spell almost everything and she will write it down. She is getting quite good! Last night after the final time she woke me up, she sang me a couple lullabies to get me back to sleep. Who has it better than me? Nobody! I love my girls! I still hope I get some boys tomorrow though!
