I went to the doctor yesterday afternoon for this strange illness I have had since Friday. Monday night, my abdomen began to be excruiatingly painful. I didn't fall asleep until 6:30 Tuesday morning because of the pain, and the only reason I fell asleep then was because Heath insisted that I take some sleeping medication. When I woke up, Kalyn or Keali (I don't remember which) hugged me and I screamed. Any pressure of any kind on my stomach results in a scream now. I can't control it--the pain is soooo bad.
The doctor suspects a problem with my gall bladder. I had an ultrasound today and though he isn't trained, Heath thought he could see gall stones in it. When we came home we looked up pictures on the internet and Heath says that the pictures on the internet look exactly like what he saw on my ultrasound. So now we are waiting for a call from my doctor. It should come this afternoon or tomorrow morning. If there is, in fact, a problem with my gall bladder, the doctor has said I will have to have surgery to remove it. So that is where we are now. Dr. Burris prescribed some medication that helps with the nasea, and Vicadin! It doesn't take the pain away, but at least the pain medication takes the edge off. I hope we can get this taken care of quickly. It hurts!
On the upside, Kalyn has been so sweet. She really feels the need to be my nurse. When the doctor came into the exam room yesterday, Kalyn had already shared her diagnosis with me. According to Kalyn, my hands, legs, neck, and all my bones are broken. I also have blood in my legs that contributes to the pain. (this is all according to Kalyn). She is my very own private physician!

Yikes! I really hope you get feeling better soon. You should really try to get rid of all that blood in your legs. Good luck!
I'm glad you now know what is wrong because we now know how to fix it. Hopefully, they will be able to do the procedure laprascopically...if you are a candidate for that approach, which I suspect you are...you should have little convalesence time. Most people only have to spend one night(if that) in the hospital and go home and are resuming their normal way of life with a few exceptions...in a couple of days. I'm sorry you have to have surgery but at least it will make you better to get that bad gallbladdder outta there...love you, Mums
