Heath's holiday dinner was nice. In a freak accident I ended up with ice water all over my legs only 5 minutes into our dinner. It was chilly! Kalyn has been very sweet today. This morning the dogs got sick in the kitchen. I have a pretty weak stomach, and after cleaning in up I began to make involuntary retching noises. It apparently scared Kalyn who immediately began asking me if I was okay. I told her I was and she hugged me and while patting my back said, "it's okay Mommy, everything will be okay." It was sweet when she was trying to comfort me. A few minutes later I stepped on a peice of glass and even though I had a pool of blood the size of Nantucket, she wasn't concerned at all. I kept trying to get her to go to another room so that she wouldn't get upset by my being hurt. I needn't have worried. Blood doesn't bother her.
Kalyn and Keali had their flu shots this morning. We had told Kalyn where we were going and why. I think that is why she got so upset when she got the shot. When she had the first one last month we kind of surprised her with it and she just got wide eyed and said, "oh!" This time she began crying and screaming, "Owee, owee, owee" before the needle even got close to her. Keali was the brave one this time, only crying for about 5 seconds.
Kalyn went to work with Heath this afternoon. She loves doing that, but can only go when Heath is going to be there for only a few hours. She loves being around the big kids and the sports. She is sweet!
