What A Day

The young man passed away early this afternoon.  I helped pack up his belongings for the family to pick up.  He had a lot of things.  It was so difficult to know that I was seeing his room just as he saw it just prior to what happened.  It was surreal actually.  Like walking into somebody else’s life.

I pray for his family that they will be comforted during this tragic time.

I really need my California trip now.  I had been looking forward to it.  Now I NEED it.  I’m going for work, but it will feel like a vacation compared to the past couple of days.  I leave early Monday morning.  I’ll miss Heath and the kids, but I hope to be rejuvenated by the time I get home.

This morning my friend Patience took Kalyn and Keali to the petting zoo.  She took lots of pictures, but I haven’t been able to look at them yet.  The girls have been talking about it all evening though.  They had a great time!

While they were away, I was able to get a little cleaning done around the house.  BOY DID IT NEED IT!!  I can’t remember the last time I mopped and my floor was horrendous.  Looks tons better now.

I also found out why my mini van has had it’s odd odor lately.  While I cleaned it out I found two petrified hot dogs, petrified pieces of bologna and ham (all from Mamaw’s house) and something that had been fermenting in the cup holders next to each girl’s seat.  I got nauseous cleaning it out, but the car smells SO MUCH better!  Guess I’ll have to implement a no food/no drink policy for the girls when they are in the vehicle.  Yuck.

I can't imagine having to pack up a room like that. It must have been difficult. I hope you enjoy your visit to Cali.

I can totally relate and relived what I went through a year ago. It's a very emotionally taxing responsibility. The emotional strain also saps you physically, but it has to be done. The yucky stuff makes you a stronger person!
