We had our 14 week appointment this morning and all is looking well. I was a bit nervous about this appointment because I am at the point when two of my friends lost one of their twins. I'm a little scared about that. The dopplar took a minute to pick up the first baby's heartbeat--I don't think I breathed at all until she found it. It was such a delicate quick sound--about 160 beats per minutes. Then we started looking for baby two.
And we looked. And we looked. I stopped breathing again. Finally we found baby 2 on the other side. That heartbeat was a bit faster and much stronger. He/she must have been closer to the dopplar. The only thing was that he/she didn't like the dopplar being pressed so hard so there was some fighting between the baby and the dopplar machine going on. He/she moved a few times and we finally couldn't find the heartbeat again, but I was okay. We heard to distinct heartbeats so I was happy!
Got some blood drawn--Heath thinks I may be anemic again. I am starting my every two weeks prenatal appointments now and we will have the BIG ultrasound in four weeks when I am 18. Excited!
And exhausted. I need to sleep for the rest of the day. We got Heath's car fixed yesterday--a bad starter. We are both relieved to have it fixed.
Kalyn had t-ball practice last night. By the end, her coach was getting mad that the kids weren't paying attention. Coach was hitting the ball and the girls were supposed to catch it and tag her before she ran around to home base. She was getting more and more frustrated. She hit the ball again, and yelled as soon as she realized what was going to happen. The ball--which was hit really hard--smacked a 5 year old dead center in the chest. The girl stood there for about 20 seconds, then started screaming. She wasn't really hurt--the balls they use are very soft--but the whole experience got the team to shape up and they practiced perfectly after that!
Their tournament begins for them at 8:00 am tomorrow morning! There goes my plans to sleep and catch up on my missed zzz's. I can't believe somebody would purposely plan something to start at 8 am on a Saturday!
