I am usually at work by 8:12 am.  I just can't make myself get ready this morning...Darn Time Change!  This is a long post because I am wasting time not getting ready for work.  I got Kalyn to school this morning, then came home and I am still not showered or ready!

This last weekend was wonderful.  I was able to forget about everything that had been bogging me down and just enjoy time with my family.  Thank you for the supportive comments.

Saturday, Heath had to go to work very early for a softball tournament.  The girls and I slept in until 8 then were up and cleaning!  Kalyn helped me clean the bathroom--insisting on scrubbing out the sink.  She did a great job!  I made pancakes for breakfast.  I love pancakes and the girls usually do too, but this day they just couldn't seem to eat them so we decided to visit Daddy at work.

We drove to Paragould and met Heath there.  We hung out and played for awhile in the field house.  I love watching Heath and the girls play.  He loves them so much and they absolutely adore him.  I got up and played a bit too, then took Keali to good old Wal Mart to pick up some special stuff for Kalyn and some ordinary stuff we actually needed.

Keali and I picked out a pink t-ball bat and pink glove for Kalyn who is signed up to play t-ball this summer!  We actually missed the sign up dates for t-ball.  It's good to have family and friends in high places because my bro-in-law Brad got Kalyn signed up anyway and we didn't even have to pay for it!

Kalyn is SO EXCITED!  We set up a T in the field house and Heath started teaching Kalyn how to hit.  She did NOT want to be taught.  She is 4 years old so of course she knows better than everyone else!  She eventually started listening though and did a great job batting.  Then Heath pulled out the glove and she wasn't interested in batting anymore.  She had to throw.

We played t-ball for a while and Kalyn is going to be great!  Keali was such a good helper too, always replacing the softball on the t as soon as Kalyn hit one.  It was a bit unnerving that Kalyn didn't really want to wait until Keali was out of the way to hit, but we managed to not have any accidents.

After a while we left Daddy and drove to Mamaw and Papaw's house.  They were out to lunch with some aunts, so I pulled out a special surprise for the girls--Kites!

Growing up we always tried to fly kites but I don't think we were ever successful.  NE Arkansas has been under a wind advisory for a few days now and let me tell you--a wind advisory is exactly the type of weather you need for flying kites!  It was awesome!!  I am sure I had more fun than the girls, but we all had a good time together.  I'll post pictures later.

Heath didn't get home until almost 11 pm.  He was at work for 16 hours!

And then the time changed.

:0

And we got up to go to church.

Early.

Sacrament Meeting was a bit of a chore this week.  The girls didn't want to be reverent and Heath didn't want to take them out into the hall.  Primary sharing time was unbearable.  There is no structure to it!  The Primary presidency just sits there and doesn't do a whole lot of anything to stop the chaos.  My kids were being okay (I teach the 5-6 yr olds), but overall it was a nightmare.  I was dreading class time.

Primary is NOT my favorite calling.  I don't like it much at all.  I wasn't happy when I took the calling, but I took it so I could hopefully learn to enjoy it.

We walked into our classroom and all the chairs were stacked up.  I was not in the mood to arrange the room so I suggested we just sit on the floor.  It was the best idea ever!  The kids were so attentive and participated so well.  The lesson was on repentance.  I was able to share a story from my childhood and I think it really hit home.  It was about me stealing some tic-tacs from the store when I was 5 or 6, and the consequences of my actions.  The best part was when I explained that after apologizing to the store manager and my Mom paying for the tic-tacs, I wasn't allowed to eat a single one of them!  I had to watch my family enjoy the candy while I contemplated what I had done wrong.  As I was telling this I realized that I had some tic-tacs in my purse so as I explained how the family got to eat them, I passed them around.

First of all, the kids have been begging me to bring them a treat--and apparently tic-tacs count as that.  Secondly, they felt they were actually taking part in the story.  It was great!  I can't explain it too well here, but I think they got the point.  I had been gone for about 3 weeks and they had a substitute.  Before she left, Jenna told me she was happy I was her teacher again!  Awww!

After church the girls and I went over to the in-laws to hang out.  They played a lot outside--we flew kites again, and we enjoyed a yummy meal my FIL made.  We were exhausted by the end of the day, but it was a great weekend!
