Remember those college nights when you would be out until all hours?  I can't do that any more.  At my conference earlier this week, I worked from 8 am until 11 pm.  8 am until 11 pm the first night (I am including driving time here), and 8 am until 10 pm the second night.  I was soooo tired!  It was really interesting though.  I am on the host committee for our annual conference in February.  I had NO IDEA how much effort and detail went into planning for a conference.  It is a big job!

I was so happy to get back to my family yesterday.  I picked up the girls from Holly's house and couldn't stop hugging them.  On the way to pick them up, I was listening to Dr. Laura.  Most of the time Dr. Laura really irritates me, but yesterday a mom was asking what she should do when her children disobey.  Dr. Laura told her to chase them around the house and tickle them until they obey.  What a great idea!

So yesterday when Kalyn and Keali stopped listening to me, I would stop myself from getting screachy, and I hugged and tickled them.   AND IT WORKED!  And beyond the hugs and tickling working, I didn't get freaky and scary towards my children.  I got to show my unconditional love to them in a way that kept me calm and warmed my heart.

Heath was really happy to have me home too.  He did a good job of taking care of things while I was away and he is dreading the 6-7 days I will be away in February!

While in Hot Springs for the conference, I got to have dinner with Dad and Beverley.  I also had my friend April with me.  April has been my mentor since before grad school.  It was a nice dinner though I barely stayed awake during it.  Sorry!

And speaking of April--I hope you feel much better soon, keep thinking positive, and I am happy everything turned out fine!!

Thanks for sharing this parenting tip. I'm going to have to try it with the grandkids when they are over visiting.
