I forgot to give an update on the birds after their vet appointment. Sprite and Sally have a severe vitamin deficiency, but diet will fix it within the next 6 months. The weirdness of Sprite's wing that I was concerned about is apparently normal, and the sheaths of Sally's wings were due to the vitamin deficiency. The vet also attributed Sally's weak grip with a foot infection caused by...guess what? The vitamin deficiency. I am very happy that this is all something we can fix. Heath picked up a new food for all three birds that will help restore their vitamin stores. The birds LOVE the new food!
Heath and Keali joined Kalyn's school for a field trip to the ASU Petting Zoo this morning. Heath called me when they returned and said that Keali was terrified the whole time! She does not like animals. She pet a baby duck, but freaked out anytime Heath put her next to any of the other animals. Heath said Kalyn didn't enjoy it too much because she was really tired. We are planning on going again tomorrow. I can't wait to see Keali!
My office is about 45 degrees today. So cold I had to take a 45 minute break to let my fingers thaw out before I could type this post. Next Monday-Wednesday I am headed off to a conference. Yeah! I am excited for this. It is a planning conference for our professional organizations regional conference in February. I am on the host committee and I am completely excited about it. I can't wait for this weekend so I can spend more than a couple of quality hours with my babies. I really miss them, but I am comforted that they are cared for by family while I am at work, and at least I love my job. If I didn't like my job, this situation would be killing me.
