I love summer time. I like the way the trees look, the smell of cut grass, and playing in the park. However...I do not love the heat of summer--especially here in the south (sorry to everyone in TX who actually do have it a lot worse than I do in Arkansas). The heat is unbearable! I have had headaches everyday for a week now...and I think it is because of the temperature outside. Luckily for us, the humidity has not been all that awful lately. Even on our rainiest days I haven't been overwhelmed by mugginess. I remember as a teenager my Mom would watch a gardening show filmed in the extreme northeast US. One Saturday morning, the couple who hosted commented on how horribly hot their summer had been. The husband said, "It has been in the mid-70s consistently." WHAT?! 70 degrees is heaven! Try coming down south and we will see what you think of the high 90s and hundreds...in over 50% humidity! I was a bit insulted!
Anyway...project attitude change had a couple snags yesterday, but for the most part I tried really hard not to have an problem. I got some housecleaning done, so that felt nice too. I made barbeque chicken for dinner and dispite Heath saying it was 'okay,' I thought it turned out pretty good. I don't cook chicken on the bone very often, I prefer to use boneless skinless breasts, but my drumsticks turned out flavorful. I used Dale's seasoning for half, and JD Barbeque for the other. Both were really good.
The rest of the week Heath is working at the AAU National Basketball Championship in Little Rock. In past years he has worked from around 8 am to 10-11 pm. This year he only has to work half-days so that will be easier for all of us. I am sure he appreciates it most though!

Melissa, it is very humid. I don't actually know what you're talking about when you say it isn't. I feel like I'm suffocating when I walk outside lately! Summer kills me! Unless I'm on the lake in a bathing suit. I am ok then.

It's been over 100 here for a couple of weeks, but at least it's a dry heat. I have to remind myself that ya'll are stuck with humidity every time I think it gets unbearable here.
