Around 2:30 this morning our house started shaking. Literally shaking. There had been a HUGE clap of thunder that made the house shudder. The dogs went crazy. I felt something down by my feet. It was Kalyn with her hands practically melded into her ears. We were in the midst of a huge storm. It continued for the rest of the night.
I woke up at 4 and got ready for work. While driving to work I saw the worst lightening I have ever seen in my life...including the time the road was struck by lightening right in front of my car when I was driving. Lightening was everywhere and it was the kind that goes from the ground to the sky and the sky to the ground.
While on the service road, I approached the highway. On days that I am running ahead, I will just stay on the service road to get to work. On days when I am behind, I hop on the highway because it is a couple minutes faster. Today I was ahead, but I didn't want to be driving in the storm. I contemplated which I should take. Something told me to stay away from the highway, but my fear of the storm overruled that still small voice. I took the highway. The moment I hit the highway, I began to hydroplane. Bad! Luckily, the next exit was only a mile away so I quickly got off the highway and took the service road for the remainder of the trip. I need to listen to that little voice more often. It really does know what it is talking about!
I have the next 2 days off and I am happy. I like to sleep in the mornings!
