My shoulders are killing me. I just KOed Heath in Wii Boxing. Yes!! He is blaming it on his remotes not working, but between you and me...he is just being a wuss.
Technically I am posting Thursday night, but nobody will read this until Friday, so...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDREA!!!
April 11th is my little sis's birthday. I am so happy she is finally catching up in years to me. At least until August.
Fresca almost lost her life tonight. Kalyn has been told numerous times to keep the bird away from the kitchen. The kitchen is where Bernie lives, and Bernie salivates every time he sees Fresca. Well--it finally happened. Kalyn took Fresca too close to the kitchen and she flew in there. Bernie pounced immediately and Fresca screamed. I was standing right there so I was able to grab Bernie and give Fresca a chance to escape. She backed up under the table screaming and posturing (it was pretty frightening). Heath ran in and picked Fresca up, carrying her to safety. It was scary. Kalyn got in trouble for disobeying us. She was a bit of a monster all day, actually. She was a bit too sassy, and spent a good deal of time in time out.
Well...about 30 seconds after I finished my post yesterday, the first tornado sirens went off. I guess I was wrong about severe weather being over. We had a few sirens throughout the morning, but again, we only had a lot of rain. The back ditch didn't flood and I was very thankful that the weather wasn't as bad for us as was predicted. Some people did get it pretty bad though in other parts of the state. It isn't supposed to rain again for at least a week. We need the dry air too. Yesterday I was walking in the backyard and couldn't take a step without water seeping out of the ground and into my shoes. The ground is just completely saturated. We need some time for it to dry out. The flooding around here is just getting worse and worse, so some dry time will be welcomed.
I've had some good phone calls with people the past couple of days. Yesterday I spoke to Amanda and Jessica for the longest time. It was really nice. I always thought it was a bit unfair that I was so much older than them (I went to college when Amanda was 4 and Jessica was 3). I like getting to talk and get to know them now though. Today I talked to my best friend Kelly for a while. We have been friends since college (we started out as enemies...but things turned around--I'll tell the story some time), and even though we don't talk all the time, we always pick right back up where we left off. I have a couple other friends like that too. I love being able to get right back into it with my friends. I miss Kelly though. We were inseperable for a long time. She was my closest friend during my parents divorce (Heath was on his mission and couldn't really talk to me), and we have been through a lot together. She is about to graduate with her Masters degree from UALR next month and I am very proud of her. She is an awesome person.
Happy Birthday to the coolest Andrea I have ever known. I am so happy you are my sister! Love you!
