I have changed my blog-look again. If you look really closely, you will realize that the background is Halloween themed. This was not done on purpose...I just didn't realize how Halloweeny it was. I really like the circles though so you will just have to live with Halloween in April/May.
Yesterday I was super-woman. I got everything done but the laundry. I thought it would feel better than it did, but I guess I can't have everything. The dogs continue to use their puppy door appropriately. I have been pleasantly surprised about that.
I did a little bit of yard work yesterday. The whole time I was out there, I kept telling myself to remember to close the gates before going back inside. Once I was finished, I cleaned up, then headed out to have some 'me' time for a little while before Heath had to go to work. I wandered the aisles of Walmart--looking at green plants that I would love to have around my home...too scared to actually purchase them for fear of condeming them to an early death. I was able to relax a bit then I returned home. Heath had let the dogs out while I was gone.
About 30 seconds after Heath left for work, I got a phone call from a woman at the end of our street. She had my two dogs. I had forgotten to shut the gates! Luckily she and her daughter had seen the dogs and promptly called us to pick them up. I jumped in the car and brought them home. I couldn't get upset with them because they just did what dogs do when they are not properly restrained. I couldn't get upset with Heath because he didn't know the gates were open. It was my fault, but thankfully the dogs were okay! I have got to do something about my memory. I am getting more stupid the older I get.

to make you feel a little better about leaving the gate open I'll tell you about my stupid move...last summer we bought a big blow up pool (about 4 feet deep) and my dogs were obsessed with the rafts in the pool so we put the pool in a seperate part of the gate so they couldn't get to it, well of course I forgot to shut the gate when I was done swimming and about half an hour later I called the dogs to come in and only one of them came and she was acting weird, so I decided to go and look for the other dog and yep he was in the pool and couldn't get out. He could've drowned if I hadn't gotten to him quick enough. Needless to say I remembered to close the gate for the rest of the summer!
