Today it is raining outside. I kind of like rainy days (as long as they don't go on too long). Everything is sort of slower. Good napping days. Tomorrow we are supposed to have snow in the morning. Funny, seeing how it was in the 70s yesterday.
Church yesterday was nice. It was good to be back. Neither of the girls behaved very well in Sacrament Meeting, but thankfully we were sitting in the back near the door. Kalyn's problem is that she refuses to speak quietly. She knows what reverence is, and she knows how to be reverent. She just won't do it in church. Keali was in some sort of a mood. She didn't want to be held. She didn't want to be set down. What!?
I returned to my current calling of playing the piano for the Primary. I love hearing the voices of the children as they sing. It is like being amongst a choir of angels. The sweet voices often bring tears to my eyes when I hear them speak about Christ and about wanting to be like him. We are currently working on a song for the Primary program. It is called, "If the Savior Stood Beside Me." Here are the lyrics for the first verse. The words are accompanied by a simple but beautiful melody.
If the Savior stood beside me,
would I do the things I do?
Would I think of His commandments
and try harder to be true.
Would I follow his example?
Would I live more righteously
If I could see the Savior standing nigh,
watching over me.
Then for our closing song we sang one of my favorite hymns. "I Know that My Redeemer Lives." This one always touches my heart because it talks about knowing that the Savior lives, and being comforted by that knowledge. I love it! And the message is so much sweeter coming from the mouths of babes. I really enjoy my calling. To think...I kept my piano playing skills a secret for years so that I wouldn't have to play at church!

I was so excited to find out we would be learning "If the Savior Stood Beside Me" for the Primary program this year. I love many of the Primary songs and the way it teaches the gospel in a simple way. If you were closer I'd ask you to give me piano lessons. I'm glad you are all feeling better. -Luana
I spent my rainy day in the operating room in a 3-4 hour case. I am glad to be home. I've never heard you play piano. I envy you that you can play. I always wanted to learn but you kinda need a piano in order to practice...oh well..such is life sometimes...and I'm doing laundry now...so off I go
