Upcoming week

This week starts the list of holiday parties that Heath and I are attending this year. I am looking forward to some of them. I hope to see old friends I haven't seen in so long. We are all feeling much better.
Yesterday I made beef stew for the first time in my life. Okay...I am 28 years old and there are so many things that I have never made. I am the kind of person who things that 'Supperbakes" are homemade cooking. I just don't really cook that much. Heath gave me an early Christmas gift this last week. A 6.5 quart dutch oven. I have been wanting one since we got married, but just had never picked one up. I love my husband! I get anything I want from him (I may have to wait a while for some things, like 6 years for a dutch oven, but I always get the stuff I want...he is so good!) Anyway, the stew was really good and I even managed to make homemade (really...from scratch!) rolls to accompany the stew. The rolls were good too. I know that Heath sometimes gets irritated that he didn't marry a domestic goddess, but I do the best I can.
My Mom and sisters are supposed to come visit at the end of this week too. I think we are making pasta from scratch. Heath bought me a pasta maker earlier this year. I used it once and that was such a disaster, I haven't touched it since. Hopefully this time the pasta-making will be better.
All in all, it should be a really good week. I look forward to it!
