Happy Birthday Heath!

Today is my hubby's birthday! He is (shhhhhhh!) 30! He told me last night that he always figured he would be dead before he was 30 because he could just never picture himself this old. Augh! I was thinking about it. When I was growing up, I could always see myself being a teenager or in my twenties, but never in my 30s. I look forward to it though. (I am really just saying that, I have been in mourning for my age since 25.)

We got Heath a strawberry ice cream cake. He loves strawberries and ice cream so it makes sense. We also got him a Superman card (go figure) and individual cards for him. Kalyn has been singing 'Happy Birthday' all day and is having a hard time understanding that it isn't her birthday yet.

Check out Keali staring at the cake. "Let me at it!"

Last night the girls and I greeted Jennifer at the airport with Andrea. This was the first time we have seen her since March. Kalyn was rather subdued...very strange for her. Maybe she is finally getting shy of people she doesn't see all the time. Maybe not. To hear her tell it, she and Jennifer are best friends and couldn't stop hugging (that is seriously what she told me). I was there. I know the truth!

Keali's was the reaction I was really looking forward to seeing. Jennifer and I are identical twins. And boy was Keali confused. While Andrea held her, she just looked from Jennifer to me and then back again. Then Jennifer held her and Keali just kept looking at her quizzically and then back at me. Andrea took her back again and both Jennifer and I held out our hands. Keali looked from one to the other and finally settled on the only diplomatic answer possible. She took one of each of our hands. Later when I was holding her, Jennifer held out her hands, and Keali just smiled then snuggled into my neck. I loved it! Kalyn was never like that as a baby. She isn't even like that now. Keali might have had a hard time determining which was which while looking at us, but once I held her, she knew who I was. Sorry Jennifer!

Too cute! Kalyn and I are the best of friends. At a very respectable distance with no contact. It's a unique bond.
