So it’s Thanksgiving week.  I try really hard to remember what I am thankful for all year, but usually fail.  I try extra hard this week though and this year I have even more to be thankful for.

I am thankful to be alive—I came fairly close to not being alive about a month ago.  The thought doesn’t scare me, but it does make me very thankful that I am still here and that more importantly, Kynan and Kaci are here.  They probably wouldn’t have done so well if I hadn’t made it.

Though their birth story was nothing like I planned or wanted, it has had a very happy ending and both babies are doing very well.  I am so thankful to Heavenly Father for that.  I am thankful for the skilled doctors and nurses who took care of them.  I am thankful for the ‘coincidences’ that occurred (read that as miracles) on the day of their birth that allowed us to have such a happy ending.

I’m thankful for Kalyn and Keali and for how patient they have been with me for the past several weeks.  They are special girls and I am so blessed to have them as my daughters.

I’m thankful for my Husband.  Without him I would be completely lost.  I tend to forget that the past month or so has been equally hard on him.  I forget because he copes so much better than I do.  He has been an excellent caregiver, husband, and father.  I am super lucky to have him.

I’m thankful for my extended and family and friends.  At times of hardship and crisis, people tend to either flee or help.  I’ve been blessed to have many more helpers than fleers!  I don’t even know if that is a word, but you know what I mean.

Today I was able to catch up for a minute with my college roommate Misty.  I haven’t seen or spoken with her in a long time, but I still consider her one of my dearest friends.  She is an amazing woman and though life for both of us has gotten very very busy, I hope we can re-connect and stay in touch.
