Playing Catch Up

As mentioned before, I don’t have internet access where I am now, so I have decided to write my posts, and I’ll actually post them when I get internet access at some point.

Today is Friday, November 7th.  Kynan has been approved to eat a bottle every other feeding now!  He is doing so well—gobbling up a bottle in about 15 minutes!  Kaci is also doing very well with her bottle feedings, but she is sticking with just 3 bottle feedings a day and instead of increasing those, we are decreasing her oxygen again.  I am so ready for her to be off oxygen.  They made her OG tube a NG tube, and the NG tube coupled with the nasal cannula is just too much for her tiny little nostrils!  It looks so uncomfortable.

I didn’t sleep too well last night.  Alarms going off all night.  They nurses had upped the heart rate level so it wouldn’t go off so much, but Kynan’s O2 saturation cuff kept falling off his foot and setting off the alarms.  The alarms are SO LOUD!

I woke up at 5:15 am completely confused.  I couldn’t remember if I had fed the babies at 4:45 or not.  I finally got up and asked the nurses.  They had forgotten to bring me the food!  So, now we are talking about having me mix their food for each feeding so that I can just take full control over the babies in terms of care.  I don’t even really know why the babies have to be in the hospital.  I do everything for the babies.  I feed, change, clean up, etc each of them.  The nurses only check tube placement and temperatures.  I do everything else.   I do feel better being here though in case something goes wrong, I know something going wrong isn’t too likely, but I still worry!
