Today we had a tailgate party with my work to go to. I had to be there early to help set up. It was rather difficult since our tables and chairs hadn’t been delivered yet and I couldn’t sit down anywhere. We have been having rain a lot lately and the ground was pretty muddy so I couldn’t even sit there.
After a while, Heath and the girls arrived. They all ate and we played some games. Heath participated in the hot dog eating contest—and got second place!! He consumed 3 hot dogs—tripled last years total! I was proud. Kalyn and Keali had fun watching their Daddy eat.
Next was Chubby Bunny. You put marshmallows in your mouth and say “chubby bunny” until you can’t anymore. Kalyn and Keali both participated in the kids round—but they didn’t really get the point of the game. They were just in it for the marshmallows!
Heath participated in the adult round—and did really well. I won’t lie to you. It was nauseating to watch and I almost lost my lunch a few times. It was funny though.
Next, April, Heath, the girls, and I went to feed the ducks at the pond, but there weren’t any ducks so we fed the fish. I’ll upload some pictures when April sends them to me. Then we went to the “Kids Zone.” Kalyn and Keali were able to play in big blow up toys for awhile. It was very sunny and fairly hot so we didn’t stay too long.
We missed the “Red Wolf Walk,” and Kalyn was very upset. She had her heart set on saying hello to Howl—our mascot. Later, he walked by the tent. My boss, Julie pointed and shouted, “The Red Wolf!” Kalyn took off without another word. Keali took off after her. I sent Heath after the girls. Kalyn caught up with Howl quickly, and began hitting his tail trying to get him to stop and say hi. He couldn’t feel her until she grabbed his arm. They had their interaction and Keali got too scared to do anything but cling to her Daddy.
A few minutes later, a cowboy mascot—big thing (I don’t know where it came from) walked near our tent. Kalyn asked if she could go say hello. I said of course. She took off. Keali was right behind. Kalyn gave him a high five but when he went to give one to Keali, she got a look of horror on her face and ran back to the tent screaming! Our whole tent had been watching (what can I say…my kids are adorable and everyone else thinks so too) and burst into laughter. It was HILARIOUS!!
After a while we left and came home. It was a fun tailgate with great food and great people to hang out with.
I’m banned from baths. I fell getting out this morning and have bruised my foot, knee, and arm. The bruise on my arm is quite impressive, and very painful. Now—if I want to relax in a tub, I have to arrange it with Heath so I don’t fall again. This is going to complicate things a lot.

Sounds like a lot of fun! My girls are terrified of any mascot. Good luck with the bath situation. I'm under similiar restrictions because Richard is a little over cautious.
