H1N1 has struck again. 

We (ASU) along with every other university/college/school district/business/etc. in the country have been coming up with a game plan for when/if the virus breaks out.  This morning, we discovered that our system broke down.  Not by my department’s fault though—although we have been the ones who have had to pick up the pieces and move forward.

So that is what I have been doing all day.  Calling and speaking with patients diagnoses with influenza A.  Luckily, I am classified as being at “Extreme High Risk” so I won’t ever have to have face to face contact, but still.  This is stressful and inconvenient on so many levels.

Yuck.
