This morning, we all woke up extra early.  Heath and I had dental appointments at 7 am, so we had to get the girls to my MILs early.

The cleaning went very quickly and was probably one of my better cleanings.  I have been having some discomfort with a molar since I became pregnant and was hopeful it was related to that.  It isn’t.  After the cleaning, the dentist came and took a look.  He said, “Did you know you have a fractured molar?”

“Well, no…” was my reply.  He explained that I do, and unfortunately, the tooth has began to decay (yuck!!).  As soon as the babies are born, he said, I need to come back in to get a crown.  Then the best part came.

“We are now in a race against time!  We want to get that crown in place before the decay reaches the nerve.  If it reaches the nerve before the crown, we will have to do a root canal.”  He must have noticed the look of terror on my face (my supervisor is currently undergoing a root canal and with all the problems she is having, the sound of one is horrible), because he quickly tried to reassure me that we probably wouldn’t have to do that.

What really gets me though is that the whole episode turned into an adventure the moment he said, “We are now in a race against time!”  And the really crazy part is he sounded excited!  What am I…5 years old?  In all it was comical and made me feel better about the situation.

Work was fun today.  I attended a Multicultural Competency Webinar that was extremely stimulating.  Okay…I’m lying.  It was possibly the most boring thing I have been to in years.  Not even good information!  Just a waste of an hour.

Picked up the girls after work.  Keali was asleep and looked so happy sprawled across the bed.  I was very tempted to join her, but persevered and got them home.  Heath got home a little after 6:30—the earliest all week!  It is nice to spend some time with him!

I whine a lot about not getting to see Heath so much during football season.  My cousin’s husband recently joined the military and has been away in training for months.  She has only gotten to see him a couple times, and wasn’t able to talk to him for days at a time in the beginning.  I have it good compared to her, but she is so strong—staying home to take care of their children and improving her home.  She has shown so much character and is inspiring to me.  I don’t think I could do what she has been doing with as much grace and knowledge that this is what is best for her family right now.  My thoughts, love, prayers are with you Markell, and your precious children.

Thanks Melissa. We just do what we have to do. I'm not pregnant with twins either. I don't know how you are doing it and working too! Enjoy every moment you can with your hubby. I'm looking forward to spending time with mine in about 6 weeks! YEAH!
