It’s been busy again.

Monday  morning I went to work and turned on my computer.  It wouldn’t let me log on so I got Justin, our IT guy, to take a look.  It wouldn’t let him log on either.  It wouldn’t let anyone.

I was in training all morning, but in the afternoon, I went back to my office and Justin had managed to get it on, but had to create a way for me to access my files because it wasn’t my account.  Tuesday, during training, Justin and Ryan, the SAIT guy, played around and fixed it.  So they thought.

Wednesday morning, I was able to log on, but I couldn’t open my email, or any of my files for that matter.  I got Justin again, and all he could say was, “there is something very, very wrong with your computer.”  I was in training all day, so he worked on it.  I didn’t go to work yesterday so he backed up my files (they were there, they just couldn’t be accessed) and reformatted my computer.

Today—it appears that all is well again!  Almost a week without a computer at work though has made me very, very behind in my work.

Yesterday we had a bit of great news!  Heath and I traveled to Little Rock (as big as I am, any traveling is a feat in and of itself).  We signed a few papers and Voila!!  We no longer own a house!! We are houseless!  And we are very excited about it.  No more mortgage payment.  No more knowing what is wrong with the house and being afraid that somebody else would figure it out before wanting to buy the house.

Okay, that last part sounded bad…it really isn’t as bad as you are imagining, but still—every house has its quirks.

We spent the rest of the day shopping for baby and maternity stuff.  I made off like a bandit with all the good stuff I got.  Heath got me a Snoogle.  I slept with it last night and all I can say is, “It will take some time to get used to.”  It’s comfortable, but I can’t sleep in my favorite position with it.  We also got some cute stuff for the girls and for the babies.

We were able to meet up with Andrea for a short time after she got off work—it was nice to see her!  And fun to talk!  Then we came home and went to bed.

Today we have a bit of sad news.  Sprite, our Lutino Cockatiel has passed away.

We got Sprite in October, when her original owner died unexpectedly.  I wasn’t happy when we got Sprite (a package deal with Sally, the grey one).  I thought it was enough to keep one bird—too much to keep three.  Both Sprite and Sally were very malnourished, and required a lot of time, attention, and money to get back to good health.  Sally was immediately affectionate towards all of us—especially me.  Sprite was sort of nasty and mean.  Wouldn’t you be if someone hadn’t been feeding you nicely?

After some time, Sprite was a bit kinder, but never as friendly as Sally.  In fact, she was the most anti-social of our birds.  But once you got her on your finger, she was very sweet.

Today, Heath came home and found her lying on the bottom of the enclosure—barely breathing.  He called me and I rushed home, only to find that she had passed away shortly after Heath hung up the phone.  I am much sadder than I would have thought I would be.  I don’t like death—and I especially don’t like things dying while in my care.

In truth, we don’t know how old Sprite was—thought we always thought she was fairly old for a bird.  I hope Sally doesn’t die any time soon.
