Anyone out there who has ever been pregnant—I have a question.
Did the small bones in your hands ever hurt? It is the weirdest thing that has been going on for about four days. My hand bones hurt. I don’t think it is muscle or ligament—just the bones. Weird.
So—for those of you who don’t know—probably all of you—H1N1 struck Arkansas State University a couple weeks ago. We got a shipment of Japanese students in (sorry that sounds so bad) a few weeks ago and they brought this lovely sickness with them. Part of the ASU protocol for dealing with the pandemic is to isolate the students and require them to wear N95 masks and limit any contact with them. They live in student housing!! As soon as I found out, I steered clear of the living areas they were in immediately, but it’s still a little freaky.
And Heath has been sick for a couple days. Bad sick. He thinks it is just a stomach bug, and I am starting to agree with him now, but still. I was more than a little freaked out for a while—losing sleep and worrying.
As far as I know, we haven’t had any new cases of the disease, so in a couple days, I think we will be declared free for now. We keep hearing about how bad it will probably get in the fall. Yikes! That is when I am going to have my babies! Did I say Yikes?
No need to panic now though.
The girls spent last night at their grandparents so Heath could sleep and I could sleep better—I barely slept at all the night before last, and didn’t get much of a nap yesterday, but I slept very well last night. Heath may be feeling a bit better.
We watched Paul Blart: Mall Cop yesterday—a bit cuter than I thought it would be, but I think I really liked it for the soundtrack. I like 80s music.
What a bad weekend to be sick! The weather has been in the low 80s since Friday and we have had a cool breeze. It is gorgeous outside!! Would have been a great weekend to take the girls to the zoo in Memphis. A cruddy zoo, but the best we have around here! We haven’t been to the zoo in almost two years, and I really want to go before I get too much bigger. One last big outing with just the four of us!

hey melissa,
I have major hand problems when I am pregnant, my mom did too. I don't get very good circulation in my hands and they get numb very quickly. I have to use braces for them when it gets really bad. i got them at a local drug store. They are commonly used with carpal tunnel. I would try that if i were you!
