We had a loverly day yesterday (I meant to spell it that way).  We got up a bit too early for a Saturday, but nobody was complaining so it was okay.

We ate some yummy blue pancakes—the girls don’t like naturally colored pancakes so we have to dye them every time.  And got ready for the day.  Then we went to some stores looking for basketball shoes for Kalyn.

Kalyn is going to basketball camp next week and she (and her Daddy for that matter) are very excited about it.  It’s a camp being held at Heath’s school so he will be with her every day.

We couldn’t really find any shoes we liked, so we moved on to maternity clothes.  I am running out of room in the ones I currently have so we are always looking for more.  I got some nice khaki’s so I was happy.  Then, since the girls were being good, Heath took them to Petco to look at the animals.  I stayed in the car because after the mall and maternity shopping, I just couldn’t walk anymore.

Next we went to Sonic for Happy Hour (YES!!).  I love happy hour.  When we lived in Murfreesboro, TN, the Sonics there didn’t do happy hour.  I don’t know why, but I still believe that is wrong!

We decided to make spicy chicken spaghetti for lunch today (Sunday), so off to Sam’s we went to pick up some chicken.  We got a bit more than chicken.  Heath picked up all sorts of snacks (healthy and unhealthy!) for me, then suggested we grill at his parents for dinner.

What did he want to grill?  A bunch of thick, juicy steaks.  I was in heaven because I couldn’t pretty much always go for a nice medium rare steak. (I don’t care what the pregnancy books say—medium rare is the way a steak was meant to be cooked and I am not going to eat it any other way.)

We picked up some gigantic potatoes to bake and headed off to his parents.  I seasoned up the steaks—Heath was a bit apprehensive because I’m not the best at seasoning steak, but I cannot stand to use steak seasoning—I think salt and pepper should be enough.  Its just a matter of using enough salt and pepper.  Anyway, we got the potatoes going and after they were almost done, Heath’s Dad fired up the grill and we cooked the meat.

I have NEVER seasoned a steak better!  They were SOOOOOO GOOOOOOOOOD!  Everyone loved them.  They were cooked perfectly for each person according to their liking.  I mean…my mouth is watering now just with the memory.  The potatoes were enormous and I couldn’t finish mine.  I also only ate about 1/4th of my steak, so maybe that’s what I’ll eat for breakfast (don’t get disgusted…you know you would do it too!).

We gave Kalyn hers—cut up.  She immediately asked for ketchup.  What!?  My Dad has a lot of opinions.  Strong opinions.  Some I agree with—some I just don’t.  Some I don’t care about—just not my think.  But one, I totally and completely am on board with.  So much so, that I spout it to just about anyone who will listen.  Here I go.

If you have to have a sauce for a steak—it wasn’t cooked properly and you shouldn’t be eating it anyway.

A well cooked steak speaks for itself.  The only sauce I would even consider for a steak that wasn’t well cooked is Jack Daniels Sauce from TGI Fridays.  That stuff is YUMMY!  But I wouldn’t use it on a well seasoned/cooked steak.

Anyway.  Now it is Sunday.  We aren’t making it to church today—Heath doesn’t feel well and didn’t get much sleep last night.  I am a gigantic fat pregnant woman who isn’t comfortable 78% of the time and the thought of taking the girls to church alone is enough for me to not go at all.  We will head off to the In-Laws in a little while to make some chicken spaghetti.  I love that stuff too—although I can’t eat the chicken.  That’s just fine.  The spaghetti is good on it’s own.

Thanks now my mouth is watering! Thanks for listening to me rant last weekend...I'm feeling better about it after saying it out loud! I love you and your family and your tiny little fetus's. Or is it feti? Is the plural for fetus the same as with geese? Just the word? What about platypus? Is is platypi?
