In honor of Father’s Day, let me tell you why my husband is a great Father!

I’ve mentioned it before, but I compare Heath to other Dad’s-to-be, and am amazed that more Dad’s don’t attend pre-natal appointments.  Heath has never missed one.  He even has left work to attend one with me.

Each time we have found out we were expecting, Heath began crying tears of happiness before even I did.  He holds my hand and gives me the exact same look he gave me when we were kneeling across the altar being Sealed.

Quality time with his family is most important to him.  Heath could have taken many routes in his career—but many of them would have kept him away from his wife and children much of the time.  Heath didn’t even consider these opportunities.

With our two girls, Heath has always changed diapers, fed them, cuddled them, rocked them, played with them, and taken joy in every little thing they do.  I am sure he will continue with the next two.

With Kalyn, I wasn’t able to feed her the way I wanted to.  This sent me into a bit of depression and she was actually three months old before I finally learned the correct way to feed her (don’t judge me…it was a normal reaction to a great disappointment).  I woke up every three hours to pump milk for Kalyn while Heath woke up every three hours to feed her.  We did this from birth.  When I returned to work, Heath continued to feed her in the middle of the night when she needed it, and always got up with her in the morning.  I think I only ever fed her in the middle of the night 2-3 times.

With Keali, I was a stay-at-home-Mom, and Heath was working full time.  He still got up with her as much as I did in the middle of the night.  I knew he was tired, but he cherished the time he got to spend with her…just Keali and Daddy time.  He regrets that he wasn’t able to spend as much time with Keali as he could with Kalyn, but I think he did just fine.

Heath has so much patience with the girls.  Where I lack, he completely fills in.  This summer he has spent almost everyday with the girls.  They love this attention and he always has something fun for them to do.

The sweetest thing I hear—every day is, “Daddy, I love you!”
