Guess whose daughter is that kid? You know, the kid who stands on the softball field gazing at the clouds, periodically break out into song, sits down to pull out the grass, doesn't watch the ball at all, and screams at you when you try to tell her to pay attention to practice. Yup--itsa mine!
Kalyn had her first t-ball practice yesterday and it was a lot of fun--she loved it. Every once in a while she was paying attention to the ball--fighting with other girls over who was going to pick it up. She is a pretty good at batting. She needs to practice throwing, and she needs to learn the rules and how to be a 'good sport.' When some of the girls missed the ball, she laughed at them. I don't know where she got that from...ahem, Heath.
In all, it was tons of fun and Keali and I loved cheering on our little t-baller! Keali kept trying to go out on the field and play with Sissy, but of course I wouldn't let her. She was finally content to sit with me and cover up with a blanket--the wind was a bit chilly. Kalyn couldn't stop talking about her 'team' all the way home. She loves being a part of something bigger than herself, and she interprets team as being instant friends. I think she will really love this season. It's a shame Heath will miss most of her practices and games, but I am thrilled that they are all scheduled at a time that I can make all of them. I know she'll love the support from her parents and extended family who are sure to all watch her--at least the ones who live nearby. The Lambs are basketball and softball people, so there should be some natural talent there.
I had to run to the doctor's yesterday for some additional lab work--some of my tests came back showing elevated levels of some bad stuff, so we are re-checking and doing some additional tests to check it out. They said it would probably end up being nothing--elevated levels of whatever it is are often associated with pregnancy and don't necessarily mean anything is wrong--just good to be on the safe side. Still, prayers are always welcome. I want this little poppyseed to be healthy and happy.

Kalyn sounds like a typical T-baller. When Cooper played T-ball he and the rest of the team wouldn't pay attention to who was batting or if the ball was coming their way. They were too busy talking to each other or having grass fights while waiting for their turn to bat.
