Did you know April 1st is only 7 working days away?!  I am PANICKED!!

2009 is my school's (Arkansas State University) Centennial year.  Because of this we are having a year long celebration--why shouldn't we?  We are 100!  Anywho...

I am responsible for my department's Centennial Celebration Hoopla (yes, that is a technical term) including a display board featuring all of the past residence halls (it's really hard to find photos of res halls from 100 years ago), and the Centennial Celebration Parade float which I am ridiculously excited about.

Why am I excited about this float?  Because this will be the first REAL parade ASU has had in almost 40 years!  For some reason, for the past 40 years organizations have made floats for homecoming and such, then just displayed them in front of buildings.  There hasn't been a real parade.  This year...we are doing a real parade complete with candy-passing-out (we can't throw it from the float for safety reasons).  I am very excited.

Until today.  I was in the office describing the super cool t-shirt design we have for the celebrations when somebody put the timeline in perspective for me.  The week after spring break.  What? W H A T !!  Spring break is next week!  I quickly did the math in my head and completely freaked out.  I thought I still had 3-4 weeks until April 1st!  Now...next week I have to finish finding pictures from ten decades ago, finish the design (actually, a CA designed the float, but it needs tweaking) for the float and purchase supplies.  On top of this I have on-campus interviews for graduate hall directors.  I don't have time...but never fear.  It will all get done and it will be spectacular!
