This past week was fun.  You know...trying to get back into the swing of things.  I started work again Monday and Kalyn started this semester at preschool.  It was difficult to wake up early enough for this.  To make matters worse, Kalyn and Keali had their first dentist appointment Monday at 8 am!  I think it was harder on Heath and I than the girls.

Kalyn lay for her cleaning very well, but Keali wouldn't even sit on the chair.  They both got to pick out toys and got brand new princess toothbrushes and toothpaste.  They were excited and really enjoyed the visit.  The dentist told us that we should help each girl brush her teeth until she is 9 years old.  Wow!  We already help them with their teeth, but I was looking forward to giving that up in the next year or so with Kalyn.  Looks like I'm in for another 5 years!

The girls will have their birthday party this coming Saturday.  It will be much easier for Heath and I this year since we decided just to buy pizza--not make taco salad.  A lot easier!  We have also done well with the gifts for the girls--each is only getting 4 or 5 instead of the 20 each last year!  I can't wait for the girls to open them!  We hope to see all of our family that lives within relatively close driving distance.

I did something bad this morning.  I gave my oldest a black eye!  I was getting out of the shower while she took a bubble bath.  I began to shake the water off my foot at the exact moment Kalyn lunged forward and my foot connected with her face.  HARD.  Now she has 3 scratches on her eye (picture Scar from The Lion King) and a black eye.  I feel horrible about it.  I think she forgives me, but she sure does have fun telling people about it.  For Mamaw, she didn't even tell the story.  She just rolled her eyes and pointed to my foot when asked how she got hurt.  Oh boy.

The second half of the season for Psych started!  I love this show and I am excited about this!  Since starting my job, I have been slowly cutting out my tv programs.  The first to go have been all of the crime (CSI, NCIS, ER, etc.) shows.  I haven't missed them.  So this last week I made the decision to cut out the rest of my violent, death-filled shows.  I have a very active imagination and I thought, "why give myself any more horrible things to think about?"  I feel great about my decision and I know that I won't miss the shows.  I am still sticking to Psych though.  It is so funny and more about humor than crime.  Plus--it isn't graphic.  I really appreciate this.  Especially with small children running around.  So my tv line up goes as such:

The Big Bang Theory

, House,

Top Chef

The Soup

And that is about it.  I also watched the following when they are in season:

Survivor

American Idol

America's Next Top Model

Project Runway

Hell's Kitchen

Big Brother

My life is a lot less complicated when I don't have to figure out how I will squeeze in my television shows!

I'm sorry about the black eye! I hate when those things happen. Fortunately, kids seem to heal quickly.
