What is going on!  There is something happening between me and pests but I don't know why and it is really creeping me out.  Yesterday, Heath and I went outside to do some yard work.  He was cutting the grass and I trimmed the two trees in the front yard with some help from Heath (I hate it when limbs get too close to the roof).

After I was finished with the trees, I began to clear the drainage ditch that runs alongside the yard.  When it rains, we get an incredible amount of water that runs off there.  If the ditch isn't cleared from leaves and dirt, our yard floods.  So I was cleaning it out when the ground next to me began to move.  Literally.

I was totally freaked out!  I thought maybe there was a toad or something there.  I couldn't take the horror any more (it is really unnerving to see the ground rise and fall before your eyes!) so I began to move back the earth.  It was a mole!  In my terror I brought my shovel down on top of it and broke it's back.  It was over before I even realized what was going on, but I was disgusted and felt sick to my stomach.  Heath was proud of me though.  Yuck!  I don't know how many more encounters like this my heart can take!

Anyway, ever since Kalyn and Keali learned how to give kisses they have played a game with Heath and I.  They will crawl up in our laps and call out for the opposite parent.  Once they have that parent's attention they begin to kiss us, keeping their eyes on the one that they are not kissing.  Then they laugh when the un-kissed parent says, "Hey!  That is MY sugar!"  Well, Keali only recently started doing this and she LOVES the game.  She is so cute as she says, "Dayee! Dayee!"  Then she even makes kissy noises and moves her head around as she give me kisses.  SO CUTE!  And Kalyn (who can't stand to be outdone by Keali on ANYTHING) has started doing it in front of Fresca if Daddy isn't around to 'make jealous.'  She will call to Fresca (who doesn't respond to her name) until she is looking in that direction, then begin to kiss.  Funny girl.

This is one of my favorite pictures of Keali-taken about a year ago.395

Remember the opossum? That's sort of what the mole reminds me of. I have more thoughts but when I write them out they don't sound funny like I intend them to be, they come off sounding mean, so I won't write them.

I can't believe you killed the mole! I'm sad and proud at the same time.
