We had a really fun day today. Before I go into what we did, Happy Birthday Bryan!
We woke up, and lazed about for a little while (of course, my favorite thing to do!), then we went to the store to pick up some buns, chips, and drinks. Then we headed off to Mike's house for a pool party!
When we got there, the girls swam for a little while with Mike's kids and two others until it started to lightening and thunder. Then we went inside to play Wii and eat! Kalyn and Keali of course had a wonderful time...there were kids to play with and a swimming pool! When the rain slowed, we went back outside to swim some more. I didn't take my bathing suit, but that didn't stop everyone from splashing, throwing water balloons, and squirting their water guns at me. I almost got as wet as if I did jump in the pool.
Kalyn was a little dare devil. She was jumping off the diving board without hesitation and even did some trick off it! She didn't want to ever leave. We may have Mike talked into getting a Wii. He and the kids seemed to really like it. After visiting for awhile, Heath brought the girls and I home so they could go to bed. Heath has gone back to watch the fight and will return later on tonight.
It was a lot of fun. Bryan called right before we left...he actually called me on his birthday to thank me for his card. I was going to call him this evening but he beat me to it.
Sticking to tradition, I had Kalyn sing "Happy Birthday" to Bryan. Unfortunately for Bryan, this was in the midst of a temper tantrum and her rendition of the classic was perhaps the most unspirited version I have ever heard. It even sounded a little angry and she forgot who she was singing to. You can't really blame her...she was being forced to leave the 'party' and wasn't happy with me or her father. So...sorry Bryan for your jacked-up Happy Birthday song, but Happy Birthday from me and I hope you have a happy one!
