Yesterday saw Heath and I doing some major work in our house...Organizing! We started by cleaning out our room. Our home is being overrun with ants. We have tried everything! We have sprayed for them outside, we have sprayed for them inside, and we have laid out bait for them too but they still manage to weasel their way in.
Anyway, we totally dismantled our bed in an effort to vacuum in those places you can never reach while the bed is in one piece. While it was dismantled I decided to organize the girls clothing. I keep outgrown clothing in boxes under the bed (gotta find storage somewhere!) and decided to pull out 'new' clothing for Keali and put away clothing that both girls have outgrown.
This is not a small task! I had to go through all the boxes because even though I keep the boxes organized (sort of), Kalyn has outgrown different sizes at a different rate. For example, she currently has 4T and 5T clothing in her closet. But I also have a box of 4T clothing under the bed because she has outgrown those items already. So to make a very long story short, we organized the clothes and pulled out what Keali needed. Then we put the bed back together.
Next came the girls' rooms. You know, I will never understand how they can make such a big mess with so few toys! A few months ago we packed up most of their toys in an effort to create less of a mess, but it didn't really work. We organized the toy boxes yesterday, throwing out all the toys that were either broken, missing pieces, or that we didn't really need (Happy Meal toys mostly). We got 6 boxes down to 4! Next time we do this we are going to have to keep Kalyn and Keali away. There were tears shed over the lost toys.
We did so much in the way of cleaning up the house and organizing, but by the end of the day the house looked as disorganized and messy as ever! I hate it when that happens! But it did feel nice to know that I wasn't lazy!
Today we plan to move Keali's crib into Kalyn's room. We will try rooming together once more. Kalyn promises she is ready for it. Heath wants to give it a shot. I am not so sure it is a great idea.

My dear sister...those kids don't have a small amount of toys..they have tons of toys!! They have more toys than any other kids I've ever seen! I can imagine how it's such a chore to clean around them all the time!
All that hard work! But the feeling of a clean and organized house after is SOOOO worth it! Good luck on the rest of the house!
I was gonna say too...the toys that I've seen do not qualify as "small amount"!
