hot Hot HOt HOT!!!  It is so warm outside.  Our high for today is supposed to be 101...without the heat index!  Thank goodness for air conditioning.  If I had been born before the time of ACs, I would simply not have made it.  Nor would I have done well without vacuums, stoves, microwaves, modern plumbing, or my beloved Kitchen Aid mixer.  I love those things.  That is proof that Heavenly Father knows what he is doing.

I couldn't have been a pioneer trekking over the plains and through the mountains.

(side note:  As I am typing this, Kalyn comes up to me with her Dora cash register and asks me what I am selling.  I sort of ignore her so I can get this finished and she begins to scream at me to pay attention.  I pay attention.  She again asks me what I am selling.  I told her I had a good attitude that she could buy--did she want it?  She asked where it was and I handed her air.  Then she 'got' it.  She screamed back at me, "I don't have a bad attitude!"  She will be spending a little time in time out today...we are not off to a good start.)

Back to pioneers.  Bless these wonderful men, women, and children who paved the way for the rest of us.  They all had strength, faith, and energy that I can only dream of!

The heat is killing me too! I don't know how people live in hotter climates! Imagine if we were closer to the equator...

Way to go, Mom, for sending those imaginery friends home! I wonder how long it will be before they show up? -Luana
