We are back from our family reunion. We had a nice weekend and had a lot of fun. Kalyn and Keali had a blast...why wouldn't they? They were surrounded by kids, uncles, grandparents, and aunts to play with them. I took some desserts, and one of them was VERY well received. That made me feel good, and I made a necklace/earring set to sell in the family auction...it sold for $37.00! I was happy with that too! Of course, I only remembered to pull out the camera for a short period of time, so I only have pictures of the pool.
We got to the reunion Friday evening and immediately claimed our bunks and unpacked. Then Kalyn went swimming with Mamaw, Klarice, and Luke. The rest of us decided to go get some food. For some reason, we headed off for the main hall by way of the pool (totally in the opposite direction). By the time I got to the pool, Keali was naked down to her diaper (not little swimmers) and was in the pool. Mamaw just can't help herself! Keali had fun, but I had to take her back so her pale skin wouldn't burn. We went to eat and visited for awhile.
Getting the kids to bed at these reunions is a bit of a task. The family staying next to us (same one as last year) was loud again. They are so loud! I don't understand it?! We finally got Kalyn and Keali to bed, and being completely exhausted ourselves, went to bed too.
Saturday morning started with rain, so there wasn't much to do outside. We played Rummy-O in the main hall. Rummy-O is probably the unofficial Lamb Family game. We all enjoy playing it...and it gets pretty competetive. Things are usually okay unless someone says the word 'cheater,' then it can get explosive. But we had a good run. After lunch, I took Kalyn back to the cabin for a nap. She was so tired and wasn't behaving very well. At some point, Keali came in too. Heath got into bed and fell asleep immediately, leaving me to put both girls down for a nap. Boy! I was not happy about that! I was tired too! It had taken me a really long time to fall asleep the night before, and then I was torn from sleep by the two bears at the other end of the cabin snoring. (Luckily, I remembered that I packed noise cancelling earphones, so I put them in and it blocked out the snores!) So I put the girls down for a nap and they finally fell asleep. Keali woke up prematurely, but Heath went to lie down by her and she fell back asleep. There is nothing like a nap when it is raining outside!
Around 5 pm, the rain stopped so it was time to swim! That is when the pictures were taken. Keali looks tired in most of the pictures. We ate dinner that night, then Keali and I spent some quality time together swinging and playing with rocks for a couple hours. That was a lot of fun. I really love that girl! She was so cute. Most of the rocks were located on a bit of a hill, so she would bend over to pick up a rock, then because she was bending down hill, she would fall on her head and roll. She never got hurt or even upset, but it was really funny and cute!
I took Keali back to the cabin for bed and Heath came in. He got into bed and fell asleep immediately...AGAIN!! I was less than impressed with this. I tried for two and a half hours to get Keali to sleep. She was too tired to actually allow herself to sleep. I finally had her where she would lie down and not get out of bed, then I went to find Kalyn (It was 11:30 pm). I got Kalyn back, and was up until 12:45 getting her and Keali to fall asleep (Keali didn't fall asleep until 12:15). I was so tired!
I put in the headphones again and fell asleep. I didn't sleep well, so when Heath woke me up at 7:30 I was NOT in a good mood. I was a bit of a pill actually, and was even irritating myself. I think I scared Timmy a little bit with my attitude. I eventually got over it though. We packed up and left. We drove back to Jonesboro and I got to talk to my friend April for a while. It was good to catch up with her, then we drove home last night.
As usual, Kalyn had a tantrum for the first little while after leaving her grandparents. Keali was difficult too, but quickly fell asleep with her sister. When we got home, both girls were still exhausted. We fed them, then put Keali to bed. She fell asleep immediately. Kalyn was a bit more difficult, but eventually went to bed too.
This morning Keali woke up her normal happy self. She is so cute! She really loves being home after being away. The schedule of traveling bothers her I think...at least more than it does Kalyn (who is by the way still sleeping).
In all, we had fun!!
In this picture, a little boy began to invade Keali's space. Look at her face! She screamed at him too.

So cute! Does your family know how lucky they are to have you? I was thinking about the chihuahua earlier today and that I should really try to be more giving like you. Thanks for inspiring me, yet again!
