Oh! Back to the daily life...until Friday at least. Our Welch Family Reunion is this coming weekend. Yes, I know that we are the Lambs, but Heath's grandmother was a Welch, and we have a pretty big turnout for the reunion. It is held every year at a church camp (I am not sure which church...probably Baptist), and we all stay in (I guess you would call them) cabins in our individual family units--meaning Heath's parents and all their kids. It is a lot of fun and good to catch up with people we only see at this reunion. It is held somewhere in northeast Arkansas so we don't have to travel too far for it.
So my goal for this week is to keep the house semi-organized so that I won't feel rushed to clean it before we go out of town again. June is our busy travel month...things hopefully will calm down after this.
Yesterday was our "breaking" Kalyn day. Whenever she stays for an extended time with her grandparents, her behavior changes a bit and we have to get her back to normal. See...at Mamaw's house, Kalyn can do almost anything she wants, and I think her dear grandmother likes it that way. So much so that I think she begins to take orders from all the kids--I am not okay with this, but it is a habit that Kalyn quickly falls into. When we get home, Kalyn tries to give Heath and I instructions on how best to serve her. I'm not talking about her telling us that she is hungry, or that she wants to play...that is normal and fine. I am talking about when she tells us that she needs to put makeup on (that she has already done) and then screams, kicks, and flails for a while. That isn't going to work. So yesterday we had more than one temper tantrum. I think that as she gets older, Kalyn will be able to outgrow this odd character flaw...at least I hope so! There is nothing cute about a child telling a grown up what to do like that. Kalyn doesn't mean anything bad by it, but she gets a bit bossy.
By the way...be warned...Kalyn has yet again picked up telling people that she is going to have a baby brother. I am not expecting at this time, so please don't believe what she is telling you regarding this matter. I wish she would stop doing this, but maybe she is super connected and has a feeling that her next sibling will be a boy. Hopefully! I would like to have a little boy someday.
