Father's Day passed rather quickly. We woke up this morning and had just enough time for Heath to help me get the girls bathed and dressed before he had to leave for his morning meetings. He left, and the girls and I finished getting ready for church.
At church the girls were the same as always...the loudest kids in Sacrament Meeting. I don't know what to do about that! I try to keep them quiet, Heath tries too. Kalyn just won't listen, and Keali copies her big sister. After Sacrament Meeting, Kalyn and Keali went to nursery (Keali is still a couple month too young to officially go in there, but the teachers don't mind, and since Heath teaches second hour and I play piano, it is more convienient for us to put her in there...plus she does really well.
I played piano for the primary...the kids are learning "I Love To See The Temple," and they are learning sign language to it too. It is fun to watch them learn. After church, Heath helped me get the girls in the car and we headed home while Heath had one last meeting.
We were halfway home when Kalyn fell asleep. I called her name to wake her up. She said, "Mommy, I am tired...I want to sleep!" I asked her some questions, then asked what she did in nursery. She replied, "I played with toys, ate a snack, sang songs, and played with bubbles, and Mommy--it made me TIRED!" So I got the hint and left her alone. She stayed awake until we got home. We changed clothes. Heath got home and reminded me that he had invited the missionaries over after church to work on a baptism announcement. I asked if the missionaries had a dinner appointment, because if they didn't, I didn't want them coming over to the house and not getting fed. Turns out they didn't have an appt., so we invited them to eat.
Then came the hard part. I was already planning on making spaghetti for my small family...I only had to increase the amount. Turns out that I had one box of thin spaghetti and one box of angel hair spaghetti. So I had to combine them. That was fun to cook because they cook for different times. Then I realized that we didn't have any bread for garlic bread. No bread. Then I though, "dessert!" We don't have anything for dessert. I rarely make anything from scratch, and all of my usual boxed sweet things were gone. So I found a recipe for something that cooked quickly that I actually had ingredients for. Cake brownies.
In all, everything turned out well, I was just exceptionally hot by the end of it. While I cooked, Heath got the rest of the house presentable (we did recently get back from vacation and I haven't felt like cleaning with this still annoying burn). Everything was nice and we had a nice dinner. The brownies even tasted better than I thought they would!
I talked to my Dad and wished him a Happy Father's Day. I will call my Grandpa J tomorrow to talk to him...Jennifer reminded me that he would probably be exhausted today after receiving so many calls, so I'll do it tomorrow. I feel depressed that I don't get to call as many Fathers on Fathers Day as I used to. Getting older stinks.
Tomorrow we head up to Jonesboro to drop off the girls, then Heath and I head up to St. Louis for the rest of the week for a conference. It will be nice to have time for just the two of us, though I will miss my babies horribly. Andrea...if you happen to drive past, could you check on the bird again? She should be fine with food and water, but I would appreciate it anyway...she isn't scary!!

I will check on her, even though I am slightly afraid of her. Have a fun time and be safe!
