So today was my first real day on the new job. And oi! I am sore! I have never professed to be remotely close to 'in-shape,' but my goodness! My knees hurt! I guess that is my fault for kneeling on the floor so many times while stocking the dairy section. Also...who would have thought that the dairy section would be so cold! I knew it would be chilly, but for some reason I didn't think that the cooler would actually be so cold! Tomorrow a jacket!
I got home from work and played "Candy Land" with Kalyn. For Christmas we had gotten her a carpet "Candy Land" game and she loves it. Then we sat down together and watched "Bridge to Terebithia." I hadn't seen it before and I don't know if I will see it again. It is hard for me to watch movies a second time if I cried the first time. I don't like crying!
I called the Principal at the school where I applied for a different job today and left him a message to call me back this afternoon. While watching the movie, Kalyn wanders into my room with the telephone and is having what sounds like a real conversation. I told her I needed the phone. She politely said, "No, Mommy. I will be done in a minute. You can talk then." I restated my request and her reply was, "I am busy...You cannot have the phone." I began to get more insistent, and started to wonder if there was a person on the other end of the phone. I finally got the phone from her and she had been talking to the Principal! I apologized. I have no idea how long he had been listen to the musings of a three year old. I asked her later what she spoke with him about. She said that she told him about her game, how much she likes Dora, and that we have a broken TV. Oh dear!
One more funny thing...
A couple days ago I accidentally called Kalyn, "Keali." I got a severe tongue lashing for that one! BTW...I had to spell tongue about 7 times before I got the correct spelling!

It's always been fun to talk to Kalyn, simply because it IS like talking to an adult.
