Ooooosh, it is cold! Now, for those of you where it is actually cold, please forgive me, but 39 degrees is cold for Arkansas. My feet are like ice cubes. 4 days to go. You know what I mean.
We tackled Kalyn's bedroom yesterday. It looked as if 3 tornados had gone through it. Now it is nice. Keali's room is next. It only looks like 1.5 tornados have been there. I don't know why my kids insist on dumping out all of the toys at once. On the other hand, I don't know why Heath and I insist on continuing to buy them toys. They have a lot. A LOT.
Let me provide a narrative to enlighten you as to what putting Kalyn to bed is like.
Mommy: Okay...it is time for our prayers!
Kalyn: Dear Heavenly Father, thank Thee for blessings, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Whoever: Says the family prayer.
Kalyn: Let me ride your back Daddy!
We tuck her into bed.
Kalyn: I need to go peepee. (she didn't need to go 2 minutes ago)
Daddy: Okay, go.
Kalyn: I can't turn the light on. I need you to help me.
Daddy: Okay.
Mommy: If you haven't gone to the potty in 30 seconds, you are going back to bed.
We get her back in bed after some kicking and screaming. As I thought it was just a ruse.
Kalyn: I need water.
Back to the bathroom for 2 1/2 cups of water.
Kalyn: Can I take some back into my room?
Mommy: Okay.
Kalyn: More hugs and sugars!
She gets her hugs and sugars and back into bed.
Kalyn: I need to brush my teeth.
In all fairness, we did forget to brush her teeth.
Back into bed.
Kalyn: Don't leave me!
Daddy: Goodnight, Kalyn. Don't come into my room until the sun comes up.
Mommy: Do you promise to wait until the sun comes up?
Kalyn: Yes.
The door shuts.
Kalyn: I really, really need you!
Daddy through the door: Go to sleep.
Kalyn: But I neeeeeeeeeeed you! I really, really do!
Mommy: Kalyn go to sleep. We will see you in the morning. Don't forget to wait until the sun comes up.
Mommy and Daddy go to their room for bed. About a minute and a half goes by and Kalyn comes out. We pretend to be asleep. She goes back into her room. Three minutes later she comes out again. We were halfway sitting up talking, but we freeze as she enters our dark room. I try to stifle a laugh as we all stare at each other. About a minute goes by in dead silence.
Kalyn: What are you staring at?

You think I am joking? I am not. We go through a version of this every night. It is comical, but one day she is going to have to learn to go to bed. Where is Keali during all of this? In her crib asleep. She goes to bed when she is told (not really, she cried for about 20 minutes). I love my babies though.

Haha awe..."What are you staring at?". She's not a fool, that's for sure!

I don't think you're joking. It was an all-to-familiar scenario as I read it. Why are 3 year olds so good at stalling?!
