I may of mentioned before that Kalyn loves Dora the Explorer. Well, now Heath and I know that Kalyn lives in a Dora world. When we go somewhere, Kalyn sings the travel song "Come on, vamanos!" When we are going too fast, or Heath or I disappears for a moment, Kalyn says, "espera" (I don't know if I spelled it right) which means "wait."
When something is accomplished, Kalyn sings the "we did it" song Lo hecimos; yeah! Out of the blue, Kalyn will stop everything and everyone and say, "I hear Swiper the Fox. That sneaky fox is going to swipe [whatever]." Then we have to all say "Swiper no swiping" three times as we shake our hands in the air.
Sometimes she will stop us and say "What was that sound?" Then she follows up with something funny like, "I hear a chicken running in the jungle."
Last week she put our route to church into a song! "Gate, Corner, Church, Nursery!"
The newest Dora inspired question is this: Everytime we do ANYTHING...Kalyn asks, "what was your favorite part of the trip Mommy?" And I have to give her a real answer. I can't just make something up. I have to actually think about what we just did and give her a rational answer otherwise she will repeat the question.
It is aDORAble how she does this, but I wonder how long this will last. I know every Dora song by heart now, and I know that names of EVERY character. Last night I made rice pudding and Kalyn reminded me how Dora's Abuela (grandmother) makes Arroz con leche for the sharing day dessert. Love that girl!
Lazy weekend. Heath and the girls are still not well so we just hung out at the house most of the weekend. Heath conducted a baptism Saturday in spanish, so we all went to that. It was nice. This morning around 6 am we had a big lightening and thunderstorm. I heard the first loud rumble and about 2 seconds later Kalyn ran into my room yelling, "it's so loud." She snuggled up with me but continued to be slightly afraid at every clap of thunder. I love it when it rains (though I too get a bit frightened and the really loud thunder). I love sleeping when it rains. It seems that I never sleep so well as when it is raining outside.

those little overalls are adorable! Not as adorable as that little girl in them though.
